Don't you just hate them? Of cours...Monitors!!! Don't you just hate them? Of course, with time you get used to it and it doesn't even phase you. Until you come home with one and you are in a new enviroment. Waking up with a heart alarm louder than a blow horn in your ear and stepping on the cat running to the crib to discover that the lead had just slipped off is just not a fun way to wake up in the middle of the night! Hopefully you don't have to! I just returned to our NICU for a fundraiser and had the oppertunity to go see my daughters old room. The moment I opened the door and heard the alarms I immediately turned around and walked out. Not ready to hear that O2 alarm just yet, or ever again for that matter.

We were blessed with the most awesome little girl last year. She was born at 24 weeks and weighed a little over a pound. She stayed in the NICU for 132 days (141 if you count the PICU) and is now home and on her way to a healthy life!

I started a site for our family when she was in the NICU about her day to day progress and has now turned into a site for everyone, preemie parent or not. I don't advertise or anything it's just there if anyone needs a little support through what we experienced. check it out if you like: http://www.babysteele.com

Found this site on MommyBlogs just looking for other SAHMs. Hope you are doing well. The NICU can be a rough place full of ups and downs! Hang in there and I pray everything will turn out well.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
